Acoustic Shu is a self taught loopologist, with a melting pot of influences. Gaining recognition at the age of 18, he began sitting in with local bands in the central Ohio area. Shortly after his skills matured, he began booking his own shows in the local bars, restaurants, and pubs skillfully hiding his real age. What really set him apart was his love for the classics. When everyone was playing top 40 radio songs, Shu was showcasing songs that had been around longer than him. After high school he began taking his talent on the road playing anywhere and everywhere he could. His travels have taken him from one corner of the nation to the other, and in doing so, he has broadened his musical spectrum. Showcasing jazz, rock, reggae, tejano, and funk, his style is amorphous and always keeps you guessing. Acoustic Shu has an arsenal of original material with a repertoire of hundreds of cover songs. One of his best qualities is his adaptations of well known cover material to suite his unmistakable voice. To get the full effect of Acoustic Shu you must see a live show. His energy and enthusiasm has a charismatic ambiance that will get you lost for hours, and before you know it, the show is over and you are left begging for more.
